Merge Tactics Team Builder

Pick a Ruler, place your troops on the board and keep spare units on the bench.

Edit board

Create and share a Merge Tactics build

Put together a complete build with a Ruler, troops, equipment and a modifier, then save it as an image or copy a link for other players. The board is designed for presenting positioning and synergies clearly, not only for testing troops one by one.

Build around what you are offered

A build on paper is a starting point, not a plan. What you can actually field depends on the troops you are offered, the traits you can realistically complete and the equipment available, and rigidly chasing a predetermined build usually costs more than adapting to what is in front of you. Use a saved build as a direction to move in rather than a checklist to complete.

How many traits to run

Traits scale partly linearly, so partial progress is not wasted the way it might look. The larger six-troop traits are the exception: their payoff is weighted heavily toward the full six, and stopping short of that gives up most of what makes them worth building around in the first place.

In practice two traits is normal and three at once is not. Toward the end of a game most builds narrow to one trait, or to two that work together, because that is where the scaling actually pays. Early on the opposite is true, and running several partial traits is sound rather than sloppy: Goblin is the standard example, since its trait supports elixir generation while being weak in a fight. It earns its place in the opening and is usually dropped later, once fighting strength matters more than economy.

Sharing a build

Builds are shareable so they can be discussed, which is where most of the value is: a build someone else has played tells you what it struggles against, and that is the part no list of troops conveys. For the underlying mechanics (how rounds, economy, merging and positioning work) the tutorial covers them properly, and the season reference shows what is actually available to build with right now.
